OPG Agro Vis was founded in 2016 by Nikola Baržić, a local producer from the island of Vis and the owner of the brand CannaVis – the first industrial hemp from the island of Vis. This is a modern island-based production that combines agriculture, organic farming, innovation, and the distinctiveness of the Vis area.
CannaVis was born from the idea of introducing industrial hemp, a plant with wide-ranging applications, into Vis agriculture in a responsible and high-quality manner. Since 2021, alongside olives and vineyards, Agro Vis has also been developing hemp cultivation, striving to demonstrate how island agriculture can be enhanced with new crops, while remaining connected to the local area, small-scale production, and the natural conditions of the island of Vis.
The CannaVis brand offers products made from organically grown industrial hemp, developed across several lines. Highlights among the oils and resins include CannaVis CBD Oil 20%, CannaVis CBD Oil 40%, Deep Sleep Oil, CannaVis CBD Resin / Paste and CannaVis CBG Resin. Also available are products made from hemp flower: CannaVis Hemp Flower 1g, CannaVis Petica Hemp Flower 5g, CannaVis Fifty hemp flower 50 g, CannaVis PreRolls 10x and CannaVis hemp leaves.
A special line includes CannaVis Pets, designed for pets, with products such as CBD oil for dogs 10 %, CBD oil for cats 5 % and CannaVis dog toy. The cosmetic line includes CannaVis Anti-age CBD serum, CannaVis anti-acne serum, CannaVis day cream, CannaVis Pain Relief, CannaVis lip balm, CannaVis massage lotion, CannaVis shampoo for oily hair and CannaVis face and body scrub. In addition to the above, their lifestyle range also includes CannaVis Parićoni Bubi.
What makes CannaVis special is that it's not just another product on the market, but an island brand born from a specific place. Vis is an island of intense sun, dry summers, barren soil, rocky terrain, and agriculture that has always had to adapt to natural conditions. In such a landscape, cultivating new crops requires knowledge, perseverance, and a willingness to learn. CannaVis demonstrates how traditional island production can expand towards modern, innovative, and market-recognized products.
An important part of their story is also the educational dimension. Industrial hemp is often an insufficiently known or misunderstood plant, despite its long history of use in food, cosmetics, textiles, paper, bioplastics, and other areas. Through its work, CannaVis contributes to a better understanding of its potential, especially in the context of small producers and more sustainable island agriculture.
