Vidović Family Winery is a small family-run winery and tasting room located in Dračevo polje, in the interior of Vis island. The winery is situated in an area known for its red soil, 'crvenica', which the islanders of Vis call tarac, and it is this soil, along with the Mediterranean climate and abundant sunshine, that shapes the character of their wines.
Vidović Winery was founded on the long-standing family viticultural and winemaking tradition of Vis island. Their vineyard is about 30 years old, but vines have been continuously cultivated in this area for centuries. Thus, the Vidović Family Farm is part of the long history of Vis viticulture, which has been one of the island's most important economic and identity-defining elements since ancient times.
In their production, they rely on small batches, traditional methods, and ecological cultivation techniques, striving to preserve the quality of their wines and the land for future generations. Notable wines in their selection include Trebljan bijeli, Plavac mali rosé, Plavac mali and Plavac mali dessert wine. Each bottle reflects a blend of local terroir, grape variety, family effort, and meticulous production.
The uniqueness of OPG Vidović lies not only in its wine but also in its tasting room. The tasting room is located in a historic, romantic Tyrolean-style cottage, surrounded by a forest of holm oaks, with a view of the vineyard. It offers visitors a peaceful and authentic experience of Vis, far from the crowded coast, amidst a landscape of fields, vineyards, stone, and island greenery.
