The Vis Archipelago UNESCO Global Geopark participated in the 53rd meeting of the European Geoparks Network
The Vis Archipelago UNESCO Global Geopark participated in the 53rd meeting of the European Geoparks Network (EGN), held from March 23 to 26, 2026, at the Visit Karawanken-Karavanke UNESCO Global Geopark.
The meeting brought together representatives of UNESCO Global Geoparks from across Europe, providing an important platform for exchanging knowledge, experiences, and best practices in geoheritage protection, education, spatial interpretation, and sustainable development.
By participating in the work of the Coordination Committee and the accompanying program, the Vis Archipelago UNESCO Global Geopark continues to actively contribute to strengthening cooperation within the European and global geopark networks, as well as to the development of joint initiatives and future strategic guidelines.
On this occasion, the cooperation agreement with the Đerdap UNESCO Global Geopark, was also extended, thus continuing the successful collaboration between the two geoparks. This cooperation opens avenues for further exchange of experiences, joint activities, and strengthening the connections between geoparks at the European level.
We thank the hosts for the excellent organization and inspiring program.
Together, we continue to promote geoheritage, strengthen local communities, and develop international cooperation.
